Many modern wood products are made from "Re-manufactured" wood .

Plywood is made from thin layers (ply's), which are cut from solid logs and glued in a criss/cross manner.  The result is a product wider, less prone to cracking and warping than solid wood and well suited to cabinet and house construction.

Other products are made from solid wood as the starting point..  Although the raw material is wood, these re-manufactured items have improved characteristics and allow the use of wood that otherwise would be wasted.
