Plastic production - "thermosets"

Glass re-inforced Plastic (GRP), often referred to as fiberglass is made by saturating selected layers i of fiberglass with a catalyzed plastic resin.  The result is a strong, impact resistant shape,
New geberation fibers such as Kevlar (left) and carbon fiber/graphite (right) produce stronger, lighter laminations.  These are called fiber-inforced plastics (FRP).

Thermoset plastics are strong and heat-resistant.  They have enabled the creation of many high-performance products.
